The seven-day scientific journey was so short, joyful, and fulfilling (see the detailed record of the seven-day itinerary in Section 6 of this issue). On August 4th, the final day of the 10th Tongwei Hope Primary School "Little Scientist" Summer Camp arrived. The Shenzhen and Taicang camps successfully concluded, with the company and foundation founder David Wang and foundation director Long Xiaojing attending the closing ceremonies in both locations.
On the morning of August 4th, the Shenzhen camp invited external teachers to conduct a science and technology class, while the Taicang camp watched a movie at the Taicang Wanda Cinema, creating wonderful memories for both camps. In the afternoon, both camps held a closing ceremony.
At the Shenzhen camp site, company leaders including Wang Dawei, Gong Pusheng, Chen Kai, Wang Xizhu, Tang Boming, Wen Wanxing, Zhang Wei, Li Zheyu, Ren Yongqiang, Li Rong, Zhang Tao, as well as foundation directors, volunteers, and staff, attended the event.
Mr. Wang delivered a closing speech, offering his blessings and earnest expectations to all the students. He said that this summer camp was a journey full of harvest. The students were lucky to have met our colleagues and rare humanoid robots, aerospace technology, and other cutting-edge fields. In the coming decades, you will witness even more astonishing technological advancements. This is your luck, but also your responsibility - to pass on the seeds of technology and let the next generation of children see more. At the same time, Mr. Wang expressed his special gratitude to everyone. Firstly, the children brought the innocence and vitality of the mountains, performing on stage and consoling enterprise employees, making the city feel warm. Secondly, volunteers, drivers, team leaders, and the foundation made silent contributions. This is a two-way gratitude. At the moment of departure, he put forward three expectations: firstly, sincere thanks, hoping everyone to remember every help, and at the same time, we also want to thank this two-way journey; secondly, deep summary, hoping everyone not only to record their observations but also to propose improvement suggestions for the next summer camp, and to think about how to design richer experiences around themes such as robotics, aerospace, and biology; thirdly, scientific recognition, we not only want to recognize the outstanding students of this session but also to specifically improve the criteria for the next session's evaluation and recognition, hoping every student can become a role model in a certain aspect. Mr. Wang said that tomorrow, everyone will return home with their observations, please tell the whole school the story of China's cutting-edge technology. In the future, we will meet again on a new scientific journey, and I hope you will maintain your enthusiasm for exploration.
During the exchange session, representatives from the teachers, volunteers, and students, namely Principal Che Xin, Wang Mingming, and Cheng Jiatong, respectively, delivered speeches sharing their insights and reflections from the trip. In the technological achievement exhibition segment, five students took the stage together to showcase their scientific knowledge acquired during the seven-day camp through their respective technological creations. Subsequently, the Shenzhen camp presented awards to the students, including Little Commander, Practical Expert, Innovation Guru, Collaborative Star, Science Doctor, Excellent School, and Excellent Volunteer.
At the closing ceremony of the Taicang camp, company leaders including Long Xiaojing, Wang Hui, Wang Huogen, Zhang Jun, Xia Jingchong, Hu Xiaogang, Wang Liangjie, as well as representatives of the directors, volunteers, and staff of the Tongwei Charity Foundation, attended the meeting.
Long Xiaojing delivered the closing speech. She said that the journey of mountains and seas came to a successful conclusion, and these seven days were a testament to gratitude and growth. The seven days were so joyful, fleeting, and precious, where we experienced the most cutting-edge technology, the most sincere friendship, and the happiest summer. She reviewed and summarized the unforgettable moments during the summer camp and the countless efforts behind them, delighted to see the children grow and achieve their own results during the summer camp. She also expressed gratitude on behalf of the foundation and the children to the class advisors, teachers, volunteer teams, as well as the company leaders and administrative logistics teams for their hard work. Finally, she encouraged the children to continue to maintain their curiosity, persevere in their dreams, and spread love with a poem.
During the exchange session, teacher representative Yang Chunyan, volunteer representative Liu Nan, and student representative Zhang Mengyao shared their thoughts on participating in the summer camp. In the technological achievement show segment, eight students from the Taicang camp took the stage as camp representatives to present their technological achievements from this summer camp. The summer camp recognized outstanding students, best organization award, excellent team-leading teachers, excellent volunteers, and staff members.
In order to leave better memories for the children, the summer camps in both places invited company leaders and staff to write blessings for the children and presented them with postcards. Some cards were drawn on the spot, and the guests read out their blessings to the children. At the closing ceremony, paper airplanes carrying hopes took off in the hands of the students. That night, the Shenzhen camp and the Taicang camp prepared a sumptuous buffet and held a joyful and warm birthday party for the students and teachers who had birthdays in the month of the summer camp. Amid the cheerful birthday songs, 102 students and 23 teachers from both places shared unforgettable moments. The 10th "Little Scientist" summer camp came to a successful conclusion, but the scientific journey belonging to the students had just begun.
